"Stimulus"

Spending more than you make.. that's the road to proserity. Yeah, right. I don't care what any world-renowned economic expert says on this one, I know 100% that it is just not true. My husband and I have spent the last 15 years struggling financially because we debted our way into "prosperity". And, when it is "prosperity" paid for with Other People's Money, you always have to PAY IT BACK. Which is most often a lot of hard WORK and not much FUN. If you owe enough, you will be lucky enough to have to SCRIMP, PINCH, and DO WITHOUT for a long time. You might even end up in or near BANKRUPTCY, causing you to stay up at night with worry and dread, wringing your hands and freaking out.

And the good part is, that if you put off paying long enough, you will die and then your CHILDREN will be left with your DEBT instead of an INHERITANCE.

I have been there, tried that... and though I have no advanced graduate degrees in economics to back it up, I will shout it from the rooftops: SPENDING MORE THAN YOU MAKE IS NOT THE PATH TO PROSPERITY!!!

The bottom line is that this "stimulus package" is nothing more than a spending package, spending money that does not belong to the government. They didn't earn it, we the people did. Spending OUR money on THEIR programs, when WE are the ones trying to stay afloat and feed our families and work our businesses and live our lives, is nothing short of obscene and completely idiotic. I wish our President and Congress would wake up and figure this out for themselves. I actually have a sneaking suspicion that, like me 15 years ago, they know it already... they just don't care because there are other things (like securing eternal dependence of the people on Democrat rule and keeping the Democrats in power) that simply matter more to them.

So, I guess what I really hope is that the American people will demand that our government run our national finances the way wise families in our nation run their family finances.... by living within your means, not borrowing, and doing what is right.
